We are a group of 7 runners; we have contacted individually the gay games numerous times ( through the function “Interact” on your website) and never got any responses.
Here is the question that we asked:
Each of us registered for the road races (paid $70.00) . Months later after the registration, we decided to add half marathon to our schedule. We understand that if a participant registers for marathon/half marathon ($105.00) , the registration for the road races is included.
Since we already paid $70.00 for the road races, is there any way for us to pay the difference ($35.00) and enter the marathon event or we have to pay the full amount?
Thank you

Hi Alexey:
Yes, we can adjust your registration to accommodate the addition of the marathon/half marathon. We will need to process by hand. Please contact Devin Stowers (dstowers@gg9cle.com) who handles registration changes. Please mention that Ann asked them to follow up with him. If you do not receive a prompt reply, email me directly (agynn@gg9cle.com).
We look forward to hosting you this August!

One more question. The opening section about road races (under competition specifics)gives 6 PM as the starting time for the 10 KM race. www.gg9cle.com/participate/sports/5k-and-10k-road-races/But describing the route further on, it indicates that the starting time is 7 PM : “The Gay Games 10k will be held on Monday, August 11 at 7:00 p.m. within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park”. Which starting time is the correct one?

Hi Alexey,
The race officially begins at 7 p.m., but registration begins at 4:30 p.m. After you register there will be a shuttle to the starting point. The shuttle runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you miss the shuttle you miss the race that is why we had some conflicting times.
Thanks for the question and good luck in the 10K.

I have a more general question about shuttles. The web site states: "Participants have access to GG9-provided transportation, including public transport, and private shuttles from central Cleveland location to the race courses. Shuttle service also will be available between central locations in Cleveland and Akron."
There is a schedule for these shuttles?
I'm also doing the 10K. Will there be shuttles to take 10K runners from Cleveland in the afternoon down to the 10K Akron registration area (which we would then transfer to the start area shuttles). Will there be shuttles to take 10K runners back to Cleveland *after* the race is over?
I'm trying to make lodging but unsure if I need to make Akron lodging after the 10K race (or rent a car to get myself from Cleveland to Akron for the race then back again.)
Appreciate if someone can clarify this.
Thank you.

What will be the schedule for runners to get them to and from the 10k road race in the Park outside of Cleveland? How many buses will return runner back to Cleveland or Akron? Will runners have to wait for round-trip buses to return? It could get late for many. 10K Road Race - Mustill Store Trailhead - West North Street, Akron, OH. 44304 I do not see the schedule or pickup/drop off locations here: www.gg9cle.com/participate/sports/5k-and-10k-road-races/

Seattle Frontrunners Guest,
Buses from Cleveland to Akron will depart every hour. They begin at 6:15AM and continue throughout the day until 9:45PM. Registration for the 10K Road Race in Akron begins at 4:30PM. Each bus leaving Cleveland takes approximately 75 minutes to arrive in Akron. With that we ask 10K participants to plan accordingly. There will be a bus that leaves at 3:15PM and a second bus leaving 15 minutes later at 3:30PM. As of right now if you are taking the bus from Cleveland to Akron we are asking participants to get off at the Akron City Centre Hotel stop. You will then walk to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad located at 27 Ridge St, Akron, OH 44308. Standby for more information on this that may get you closer. From there you will check-in for the race and then be transported to the start line via the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. The last train will leave at approximately 6:30PM.

This is not so much a road running, but a general question.
At some previous Games (Chicago comes to mind) there were promotions of massage/chiropractor services affiliated with the events. While the services were not free, it definitely saved us the time of looking around for a professional masseur/chiropractor.
Just wondering, if such a directory will be provided in Cleveland?

GG9 coordinator, I keep seeing information stating we need to register before the road races. I am confused, I thought I already registered for the games and for the road races (all three 5k, 10k, half marathon. Why would I need to get to a race and register again? How do I confirm I'm fully registered for these races, whether I'm all set or need to register a second time? Also, if it takes 75 minutes to travel from Cleveland to Akron on the bus, then there should be buses starting earlier to accommodate the 7am runs correct? I did not realize the distance between the two cities nor the second registration possibly required. My hotel accommodations are in Cleveland at the Host hotel, I assumed that was a logical place. Possibly I should move my reservation to Akron to avoid this inconvenience .. wondering what others are doing. Thank you so much for any feedback ... very excited to participate !! Thanks Kelly

Hi Alexey, thanks for the question. As of right now, I don't believe GG9 is promoting an massage service. However, we do have many sponsors and business partners listed on our website at gg9cle.com if you want to check it out.

Hi Kelly- I think that you're referring to our accreditation process, during which you will be given your credentials/ID in order to participate. If you completed the registration process, you are registered. However, ALL participants must go through the accreditation process. As far as public transportation goes, updates have been made on our website and you should look at the transportation page under "Plan My Visit" on gg9cle.com
Please email ckohuth@gg9cle.com with further questions.
