My husband and I are looking to enter the doubles competition. We are USTA rated at 3.0 (C in GLTA ratings) and are 56 and 58. We wonder if it would be better to register in the 40+ C division, or the 50+ (which is open to all levels). The question is: are the REALLY good players who are over 50 going to play in an open (to all ages) division and compete strictly at their skill level, or would most of them aim to compete within their age division. We don't want to get blown out of the water by some super-fit over 50-team, though we're more than happy to lose to anybody at our skill level.
I know that it might be impossible to guess how players might register, but if anybody else is wondering the same thing, it would be interesting what they decide.
(I think we're leaning toward 40+ C)
THANKS!
