Thank you for the question Alex. We are following the USRowing rules which require that mixed boats be composed of 50% men and 50% women for any given lineup. The 2014 Gay Games Regatta permits mixed boats to contain more than 50% of any lineup as women. However, every mixed boat must contain at least one (1) man. Look forward to seeing you on the water! Thanks! I just got confirmation that she can row in our Men's boat. So, FYI, for everyone else, you can do that.

Seggerman, the volunteer window has closed, but you may want to check by either calling +1 (216) 479.6470 or emailing info@gg9cle.com to double check.

Hello,
A couple of questions:
1) Are there any boats available to rent/borrow? Or are we expected to bring/arrange our own?
2) My crew (Chicago Rowing Union) is interested in adding a Mixed 8 and Mixed 4. However, because there is no schedule of the races, I am worried about over-scheduling us (we will only likely have two boats, a 4+ and an 8+). Should I go ahead and register us for those events and assume the schedule will work out?
Thank You! Alex Zilka

Alex, A tentative schedule should be in place by the end of the week. Boats will be available to rent however we are encouraging crews if able to trailer their shells to Cleveland. If boats are needed, CRF can arrange them for visiting out of town crews.

Any word on the tentative racing schedule? I would like to add boats asap if possible. I need to notify a few rowers to tell them if they can come or not. I'm just worried about over booking us and not being able to to have everyone row.

If you have a general question about Rowing, please post the question here. Question : As a Coxswain, it is common for a Cox to be of either gender regardless of the gender specification required by the actual rowers themselves ( i.e. - Women's 8+ but with a male Cox.) The registration site does not allow me as a male to register with an opposite sex crew. Any suggestions as to how this can be adjusted ? Thank You !

Hi Patrick, thanks for the question. You are welcome to have a team with multiple genders, but your team will need to register as Male/Mixed instead of female. If you need to change your team's registration info, email mcordish@gg9cle.com

Is there an online swimming safety waiver that must be signed before we race ? If not, will there be hardcopy waivers available to sign the morning of regatta ?

Patrick, Check-in is going to be taken care of at accreditation and more specific swimming information will be going out soon. Please see the event calendar and skim through accreditation times www.gg9cle.com/plan-my-visit/event-schedule/ .
