I was looking at the venues where the tennis will be at during the games but am not sure which venue ois specific to C Division. Also are they near each other and are they located downtown cleveland. The reason I ask is for hotel bookings.
Thank you,
Tav

The tennis event will require multiple venues. All venues will be on the eastside of Cleveland. We have not yet planned which divisions will be a which venues. Actually, all the tennis venues are about the same distance from hotels. A downtown Cleveland Hotel will be fine. Go to resweb.passkey.com/ux/LodgingSelectPageAction_ux.DO

Looking to plan my trip. Do all the difficulty levels and age groups play at the same time or different times? Do they all start on Sunday? Is there a schedule yet?

Are the dates and times for specific matches set yet? I'd like to volunteer and perhaps attend other ticketed events, but until I know the competition schedule, can't do so. When will this information become available and how will it e communicated? Thanks.

Thank you for the question Ellen. We are working with the sports director of tennis to narrow done the final dates and times. We will have the set dates and times after registration in over May 31st, but we are working to narrow it down before then. The information will be updated on our website.
We look forward to seeing you at the Games!

I live in Cleveland so I thought it would be fun to enter the tennis. I played pretty regularly when I was younger (I'm now 48). But haven't played much in the last 10-15 years. I have never played in a sanctioned tournament so I have no idea what the suggested rankings even mean. My question is would I classify myself at the 40-d level which says beginner. I just don't know what skills represent beginner from a low intermediate. I would appreciate any feedback. I do want to enter the proper level.

I signed up for A open division in singles and doubles. Unfortunately I still don't have a doubles partner. Will we be matched up with someone or is there a way to figure out who else needs a partner for that division.

Thank you for the question KYtennisguy. We are not going to be partnering any participants together, but I would suggest that you are looking for a doubles partner on this forum.
We are looking forward to seeing you on the court!

Thank you for the question Mailman755. Unfortunately, we cannot suggest which division that you should enter. This decision will have to be up to you because everyone's idea of what beginner-advanced is different.

(GG9Cordinator: I know you can't recommend a level - but I think it's important for you to be a bit more pro-active and creative in your responses, especially when it comes to ratings. If someone enters the wrong division - it can obviously cause a huge amount of issues and is a possible disqualification. The person is doing the right thing in checking beforehand.) Mailman755: I'll do my best to answer your question. Based on your question, it sounds like you've already checked the GLTA rankings page. Here it is just in case: www.glta.net/rankingsIf you don't have a USTA ranking... The best thing to do is to visit a local tennis club and ask to be rated by the pro. They'll watch you play for a bit and provide you with their estimated USTA rating, which you can then use to access your GLTA rating using the link I provied. Or, you can find another GLTA member or two in the Cleveland area and ask for their opinion. But if you've played a fair amount before, don't assume you'll be a beginning now just because you're 48. You're not 90! Tennis is a lot like riding a bike. I hope you enter, you'll have a great time! There are also a lot of other GLTA tournaments you would enjoy. Best of luck!

If you have a general question about Tennis, please post the question here. What is proper tennis attire? Can I wear a T-shirt or must I wear a shirt with a collar? Thank you.
