Thank you for the question Doug. The two hour gap is required to re-oil the lanes, so the shifts get to bowl on the same conditions.

Will this be a USBC sanctioned event?

Hi Chuck, thanks for the question. The Bowling tournament shall be governed and conducted under the rules of the sanctioning body, United States Bowling Congress (USBC).
See you at the lanes!

I like to bowl in the gay games that are coming this august. I've bowled in leagues, off and on since i was 13. Im now 52. I've been checking your blog to see if anyone needs a bowler or two. I'm not in a league at the moment, but my question is, does one have to have an bowling average to be eligible, prior to entering? And if that is the case, is there an alternative (establishing an avg.)...?

James- Players without a handicap do not qualify for the League Division. These players participate in the Social Division.
See you at the Games!

I'm having problems adding myself to my own teams I've created. My average is 193 (last year 188), but I created a division A team as my teammates averages range from 193 to over 200. (the same applies to my doubles team)
Do ALL team members have to average over 200 to add to a division A team/doubles?
Thanks for reaching out Davey!
It has been brought to our attention that a member from our team has answered your questions. Please let us know if you need anything additional from us.
Would someone please address this question by answering in the forum. The GG9 System is not allowing people to bowl singles in one division and teams or doubles in another. Whoever wrote the program obviously does not understand bowling. We are one month out and still not able to complete registration correctly. Also, given that there are less than 250 bowlers, why are we bowling over 5 days? Is there a new timetable going up? Some communication is needed here people.

For the bowing coordinator Will you match up unfilled teams? I have a team that needs two more bowlers, Will you assign bowlers to fill the roster? In an effort to get more competition at the Team event. People are set up for Singles & Doubles. They could be added to unfilled Team spots. Otherwise we will Delete our Team entry

Hi Gregory, thanks for your question. We are encouraging everyone to make their best effort to get teams together on their own, but if all else fails, GG9 will attempt to pair you with a team/teammates. Email tspence@gg9cle.com (this information is also on the website under the register now button www.gg9cle.com/participate/sports/bowling)

Will we be able to practice on the lanes on Sat Aug 9th in the morning or early afternoon? Also, how much practice time will we get before our competition games?

The contract between GG9 and Games of Wickliffe does not includes bowling on Saturday. If an individual wanted to bowl on Saturday, that person would have to make his/her own arrangements.

Also, please note- There will be bowling before each shift starts (usually 10 minutes of practice).

Thank you for the info. I have another question regarding verification of averages. I have had a USBC average for 2 years . I am trying to get a verification from the USBC. I am also trying to bring a copy of my averages for 2 years signed by a bowling league official. However, will there be a way for the bowling committee to verify my average through the USBC website if there is a problem with my documentation?
Thanks!
Marilyn H
